Osceola County has the following incorporated areas/cities: Buenaventura Lakes, Celebration, Poinciana, Campbell, Kissimmee, Saint Cloud, Poinciana Place, and Yeehaw Junction. The county has a population well in excess of a quarter of a million.

Osceola County's close proximity to Disney World makes tourism a major industry. Other industries in the area are arts, entertainment, recreation, accommodation and food services; retail trade; and educational, health, and social services. Major private sector employers are Walt Disney Company, Wal-Mart, Florida Hospital Kissimmee & Celebration, Osceola Regional Medical Center, and Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. Osceola County's largest public sector employers are Osceola School District and Osceola County Government.
