The county includes over 175 miles of state-certified canoe paths. Palatka can also lay claim to a Ravine Gardens State Park, created in the 1930s. Palatka and the town of Interlachen both have arts & culture activities, including museums and galleries, wildlife observatories, and historic sites.
Forestry is the most important part of the agricultural industry in Putnam County. Timber consumes more land than any other agricultural product. Farms in the county produce crops including potatoes, cabbage, and poultry. Like other places in Florida, cattle ranching and citrus harvesting are also important agricultural activities.
